EGPA 2024 Conference: Check new opportunities to join us for a stimulating programme

Diogo Pereira,

We are thrilled to announce that over 670 proposals and numerous panel submissions on cutting-edge topics have been submitted for the upcoming EGPA Annual Conference, to be held in Athens this September.

The co-chairs of the EGPA Permanent Study Groups and Seminars are diligently reviewing these proposals and preparing an engaging program for our sessions.

New Opportunities to Participate
We still have openings for special tracks and panels, including the special call dedicated to "Enhancing Public Administration Skills". For more details, please visit the conference website, access the Conference Management System, or contact us directly.

In collaboration with the exceptional team at Panteion University, we are committed to offering you an unparalleled experience in Athens — a city renowned for its contributions to democracy, the arts, education, and philosophy.

As highlighted by the EGPA President, this year's conference will focus on "Strengthening Democratic Governance for Better Public Policies and Services." Amidst global challenges such as democratic backsliding and the rise of illiberal power, our conference will emphasize the need for renewed democratization through participative and deliberative democracy. We aim to address the threats to the rule of law and fundamental rights posed by authoritarian regimes, reaffirming our commitment to democratic governance, policymaking, and public service delivery across Europe.

We will organise the Opening Ceremony on the Conference theme with prestigious keynote speakers from practitioners’ side and from academic perspectives. The second plenary session will be dedicated to Public Administration and the Future of Democracy and will be coordinated by Prof Michael Bauer. There will be a series of panels tacking key topics, focusing on research projects, proposing methodological approaches, or questioning Public Administration as a contribution to humanities.

We invite the whole European community of PA experts, scholars and practitioners to join us in Athens for debating key challenges for European Democratic Governance after the Elections in June.

The registration process will open mid-June to welcome you to the 46th EGPA Annual Conference.

Stay tuned for more updates, and prepare to be part of an inspiring and transformative event in the heart of Greece.
